Short Film Jury

Josh Weinstein

John Weinstein was a writer and Co-Executive Producer on Futurama 2010-2013. He was Showrunner for the CBBC’s innovative puppet show Strange Hill High and a writer for Disney’s Gravity Falls. Along with his team, Weinstein has won four Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award for The Simpsons and Futurama in addition to Kidscreen and Royal Television Society North West awards for Strange Hill High . He is currently Showrunner and Executive Producer of Matt Groening’s new adult animated fantasy show for Netflix, Disenchantment.

Lauren Orme

Lauren is an award-winning animated short film director based in Cardiff. She is the Director of the new Cardiff Animation Festival, launching in Wales in April 2018.

Jo Allen

Jo is Producer for Animation and Acquisitions – overseeing animation and live action projects for CBBC.

Seb Burnett

Seb Burnett is an illustrator, character designer, game developer and director. He is passionate about telling stories and creating worlds and is always searching for new ways to do this. 

In 2011 he cofounded Rumpus Animation as place to make fun and engaging characters. Rumpus has now branched out into telling interactive stories and have just published the second in their Bertram Fiddle Adventure Game series.

Andrew Burrell

Andrew Burrell is a writer, producer, story editor, voice director and very bad voice acting stand-in for animated and live-action shows.  He’s written for Netflix U.S., Disney, Nickelodeon and the BBC including a stint as lead writer of Danger Mouse for CBBC and Matt Groening’s new show Disenchantment. 

Bader Badruddin

Bader Badruddin is a series Animation Director at Blue Zoo, with over a decade experience in cartoony character animation for kids TV, Bader has worked on projects for Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and CBeebies across the world.

Jez Hall

Jez Hall has worked in the animation industry for 25 years. As a director, art director, designer, animator and storyboard artist on over 50 TV shows, numerous commercials, films and short films including storyboarding work for Disney, Cartoon Network, Cartoon Saloon, Cosgrove Hall Films and Nickelodeon.
