Bringing together people from industry to answer questions from the audience about issues anyone working in industry or interested in a career in animation can relate to. Come along armed with questions and put them to our panel of experts from the creative community.

You can cram a lot into 5 years and as MAF turns five, we are joined by a panel of people who share wit and wisdom that they’ve learned in their first five years working in the animation industry, passing on invaluable tips and tricks onto those starting out in the world of animation!


Dane Winn

Dane joined Blue Zoo in 2011. Blue-Zoo is a multi-BAFTA winning animation studio in central London. Dane has worked on multiple children's series as both an Animator and Lead Animator. In 2015 he moved to the studio's commercials department where he now work as a Director and generalist, working on projects for Disney, Lego, Pokemon, BBC Sport and many other brands.

Amanda Holm

In January 2018 she graduated from The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark after being Lead Animator on her bachelor movie BACCHUS. While specialising in traditional 2D character animation she has since then freelanced in the industry on a variety on projects such as commercials, short films and music videos.

Abigail Fairhurst

Abigail is a lead compositor at Brown Bag Films. She started working in the animation industry in 2016 after graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in Animation. Since 2016 she has been working at Brown Bag films in Manchester where she has taken on various different roles. She started off with the graduate position of Scene Set Up Artist and now works as a Lead Compositor, where she manages a small team of Compositors and Toonboom Renderers.
