Jon Turner

Jon studied for an MA in Computer Animation at Bournemouth NCCA. It was there he answered an advert for a three month contract at Cosgrove Hall Films. He quickly endeared himself to the head of Cosgrove Hall Digital and spent the next five years working on shows like Postman Pat, Engie Benjy and Albie, as well as on music videos for Mr. Scruff and Tindersticks.

In 2005 Jon co-founded Kilogramme in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The initial idea was to make as much good animation as possible, without getting caught up in budgetary or legal wrangles. This has lead to work with a range of clients from start ups to blue chip as well as several awards. It has not lead to untold riches, but there is always hope.

Whenever possible Jon likes to make, or encourage, self-initiated shorts. His favourite film is probably Brazil, but he would like to recommend: A Matter of Life and Death, Your Name, Toto the Hero, Monsieur Hire and Roadhouse.
