Matt Palmer

It was inevitable that Matt would seek out a career in children’s entertainment having been born into a family of theatrical performers and puppeteers. In the mid 1990s he joined Cosgrove Hall Films as a stop frame animator working on the series NODDY, OAKIE DOKE, BILL AND BEN, POSTMAN PAT and Gerry Anderson’s LAVENDER CASTLE, all for CBBC. Matt’s hands-on animation career reached its pinnacle in 2004 when he worked as an animator on the Tim Burton feature THE CORPSE BRIDE for Warner Brothers.

His directorial debut came in 2000 with his own short THE TROJAN HORSE which went on to feature in a pop promo for the band Tindersticks. This self-initiated venture proved to be the springboard into his directorial career, and he was offered the opportunity to direct the first 26 episodes of ENGIE BENJY for Cosgrove Hall Films and CITV.

Having completed the Tim Burton feature, Matt returned to Cosgrove Hall Films as an Assistant Director/Studio Director/Senior Animator working on the successful Chapman Entertainment brands FIFI AND THE FLOWERTOTS and ROARY THE RACING CAR.

Matt’s transition to the CGI world occurred in 2007 when he was approached and tasked to develop and grow an animation team for the game company TT Fusion, a part of the Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment group of companies.

As Head of Animation/Animation Director Matt supervised the animation teams on game titles that include LEGO® STAR WARS – THE COMPLETE SAGA, LEGO® CITY UNDERCOVER and THE LEGO® MOVIE VIDEOGAME.
