Get an exclusive first look at Rafi the Wishing Wizard, a brand-new 2D animated preschool sitcom from BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions for CBeebies. Set in Manchester, the series follows seven-year-old Rafi Martin, a young wizard whose one-a-day wishing wand brings magical mayhem to everyday life. Join creator and executive producer Tom Cousins, alongside cast and creatives, as they share how heart, humour and inclusive storytelling shape this warm and witty new series - a true celebration of modern family life, community and discovering that everyday magic can be found in the people around us.

Tom Cousins

Tom Cousins is a producer, writer and director with almost 20 years’ experience making programmes for young audiences, including the mixed-media series Kit & Pup, the BAFTA-nominated CBeebies Stargazing and the multi-award-winning JoJo & Gran Gran. Based in Manchester, he is the Creator and Executive Producer of Rafi the Wishing Wizard, a new animated preschool sitcom from BBC Studios Kids & Family, coming to CBeebies in 2026.

Beth Gardiner

Beth Gardiner is the Commissioning Editor of Animation within the CBeebies Team. While at the BBC, she’s had the pleasure of working on Piripenguins, for the bridge audience. She has also worked on Beddybyes and the upcoming Piggy Builders and Rafi the Wishing Wizard. Before joining the BBC, she was the Creative Producer for PJ Masks for 5 seasons. Prior to that, she was the VP of Development & Current Series for Disney Jr where she developed and supervised series including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the BAFTA nominated Jungle Junction and Nina Needs to Go.

Muzz Khan

Muzz Khan is best known for his role as series regular, Adyan Khan, in Sky's hit comedy, BRASSIC, and most memorably as the face and voice of ASDA; fronting over 20 commercials for the brand. He is also known for his roles as Syed in ME BEFORE YOU, Fappuccino in Charlie Brooker's BLACK MIRROR and series regular, Barry, in Dan Fogelman and Alan Menken's GALAVANT for abc/Disney. Recently he played the role of Anton Deck in Aardman's WALLACE AND GROMIT: VENGEANCE MOST FOWL and will soon be seen as one of the leads in RAFI: THE WISHING WIZARD, for BBC KIDS AND FAMILY.

Seán McCormack

Born in Ireland and raised in Luxembourg, Seán is now a London-based animator-turned-director with a soft spot for storytelling. After graduating from the Arts University Bournemouth, he cut his teeth as an animator, storyboarder, and writer. For the past four years, Seán has been directing at Blue Zoo and currently leads the BBC preschool series Rafi – The Wishing Wizard.

Emma Goswell

Emma is an award winning radio presenter and podcaster with over 20 years experience. Emma is currently the Sunday reporter at BBC Radio Manchester but has co-presented the breakfast show on Gaydio and has also presented shows on BBC Radio Manchester, BBC Radio Wales and Virgin Radio Pride. Since 2018 she’s hosted the podcast ‘Coming Out Stories’ and interviewed over 130 LGBT+ people from around the world. The podcast has been downloaded over a quarter of a million times.
