Andrew Baker

Andrew Baker is an award-winning Producer and Executive Producer and founder of Cantilever Media, a UK based film and television production company, and Kazoo Films, a UK and Ireland animated film distribution company.

Cantilever Media’s first animated theatrical feature film was ‘The Amazing Maurice’, based on the award-winning book ‘The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents’ by Sir Terry Pratchett, written by Terry Rossio (Shrek, Aladdin) and co-produced with Ulysses Productions in Germany (Louis and the Aliens, Oops Noah is Gone).

The film stars Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, David Thewlis, Himesh Patel, Gemma Arterton, Hugh Bonneville, Ariyon Bakare, Joe Sugg, Julie Atherton and David Tennant. ‘The Amazing Maurice’ was longlisted for Best Animated Feature in the BAFTA Film Awards 2022, Won ‘Best Animation’ at Cartoons on the Bay 2023, Won the ‘Audience Choice’ Award at the Nantes Les Utopiales and premiered in the USA at the Sundance Film Festival (2023).

In 2024 ‘The Amazing Maurice’ was longlisted for The Academy Awards and won a British Animation Award for ‘Best Vocal Performance’ as well as being short listed as ‘Best Animated Feature’.

In 2023, Andrew was shortlisted as ‘CARTOON European Animation Producer of the Year’.

Andrew has also produced ‘Badjelly’ a 13 x 20’ 2D animated series based on Spike Milligan’s classic children’s story starring Rhys Darby, Ava Diakhaby, Malachi Hall and Miriam Margolyes which is a UK-Canada-New Zealand co-production and which launched on ITVX in the UK in October 2025.

Andrew is currently producing a number of feature animations, including ‘Bollywoof’ (sales agent Embankment Films) with Newscope Films (UK) and Sky Cinema; ‘Unstable’ (sales agent Pink Parrot Media), co-produced with CarpeDiem Film & Tv (Canada); ‘The Amazing Maurice 2’ (sales agent Epsilon Films) co-produced with Ulysses Films (Germany) and ‘Wed Wabbit’ (sales agent Timeless Films) co-produced with Locksmith Animation (UK) and Redefine Originals.
