Tom Cousins

Tom Cousins is a producer, writer and director with almost 20 years’ experience making programmes for young audiences. Based in Manchester, he is the Creator and Executive Producer of Rafi the Wishing Wizard, a new animated preschool sitcom from BBC Studios Kids & Family, coming to CBeebies in 2026.

He began his career at Channel 5’s Milkshake! before joining the BBC’s in-house production unit in 2012 as an assistant producer, where he created and produced the mixed-media series Kit & Pup and directed the BAFTA-nominated CBeebies Stargazing.

Now part of BBC Studios Kids & Family, Tom has series produced three seasons of the multi-award-winning JoJo & Gran Gran and serves as BBC Studios’ Executive Producer for Bluey. His work is defined by warmth, inclusivity and a clear understanding of the audience, underpinned by strong editorial judgement and creative leadership.
