Ruth Fielding
Ruth Fielding has 25 years’ experience in the animation industry and has produced feature films, TV series and TV Specials for all the major UK broadcasters and streaming platforms through her award winning company Lupus Films, as well as leading co-productions with France, Ireland, India, Denmark, Luxembourg, Wales and the US. Ruth is a creative producer and holds a Masters Degree in text and performance studies from RADA and Kings College as well as a BA Hons in Drama and English.
She started her career in live-action making promotional films for corporate clients before moving into theatre and then animation commissioning at Channel 4 where she met her business partner Camilla Deakin. Ruth oversaw in excess of 100 short films during her tenure at the UK broadcaster before deciding to leave and set up Lupus Films with her friend and colleague Deakin.
Ruth was one of the animation producers who sat on the UK Government’s Treasury Working Group in 2013 to create the Animation Tax Credit and was a founding member of Animation UK, the UK’s trade body for animation and has continued to be a valued member of the executive council for the last 13 years. In 2026 she was made Chair of the Animation UK council and continues to rally other producers to lobby the government and funding bodies on behalf of the UK animation industry.
Ruth prides herself on her skills as a creative film producer working closely with directors, actors, animators and financiers. She is involved in every aspect of production from scripting right through to delivery and she is respected by her peers and well thought of in the industry. She works as a team with her producing partner Camilla Deakin and in 2017 both shared the Women’s International Film and Television Showcase award for Animation. Together they have been running Lupus Films, one of the only animation studios owned and run by women in the UK for the last 24 years. She is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America and an Academy Member in the Animation Chapter.
Films that Ruth has produced have gone on to win many awards including Best Animation at the International Emmy Kids Awards (The Tiger Who Came to Tea) and she is a multi-children’s and film-BAFTA nominee.
