Journey to Pop Cloud Island is an ambitious animated feature that expands the much loved world of the TV series Pop Paper City into a breathtaking cinematic adventure. While rooted in the handcrafted charm and creativity that audiences already know from the television series, the team’s vision is to create a film that feels truly epic in scale while remaining intimate at its heart. It is a story about friendship, identity, curiosity and hope, wrapped inside a spectacular adventure that celebrates the power of imagination.
Producer Georgina Hurcombe
Georgina Hurcombe MBE is an award winning producer, creator and founder of LoveLove Films. In 2026, she was awarded an MBE in The King’s Birthday Honours for services to television and the creative sector, recognising her contribution to children’s media, original IP development and the UK creative industries. She is the creator and producer of the internationally successful preschool series Pop Paper City, which has been broadcast in more than 180 territories and has grown into a multi platform brand spanning television, publishing, education and interactive media. Throughout her career, Georgina has led projects from concept through development, financing, production and international distribution, with a passion for creating original stories that inspire imagination, creativity and active participation. A BAFTA Breakthrough participant and full BAFTA member, Georgina is a passionate advocate for regional creative businesses, emerging talent and the future of British children’s content. Through LoveLove Films, she has created opportunities for hundreds of students and early career creatives, championing the development of new voices within the animation industry. With Journey to Pop Cloud Island, Georgina is building on the success of Pop Paper City to create an ambitious animated feature that combines cinematic storytelling with themes of creativity, curiosity and belonging for family audiences around the world.
Writer & Development Producer – George Caton-Coult
George Caton-Coult is a writer, producer and development executive at LoveLove Films/ Pop Paper City, where he works closely with creator and producer Georgina across the creative and strategic development of the Pop Paper City brand. His role spans story development, production, publishing, licensing and long term IP growth, helping to shape the brand across television, film and emerging platforms. George has written for the internationally distributed preschool series Pop Paper City and helps oversees the studio’s development slate, supporting projects from concept through to pitch and production. He holds a BA (Hons) in Scriptwriting for Film & Television and an MA in Producing Film & Television from Bournemouth University, combining a strong foundation in storytelling with practical production expertise. As co writer of Journey to Pop Cloud Island, alongside director Connie Forest, George has played a central role in developing the feature screenplay, shaping its emotional character arcs, expanding the worldbuilding and helping translate the much loved television series into an ambitious cinematic adventure. His passion lies in creating imaginative family stories that blend humour, heart and adventure while encouraging creativity, curiosity and emotional connection.
