Accompanying the award winning book of the same name by illustrator Matt Rota, "Timeless Mumbai" leads the viewer on a tour of Mumbai's architectural heritage from the imperial and monumental colonial era to the ultramodern, mid-century Art Deco masterpieces. The entire animation was done with gouache on paper to blend together seamlessly with Matt’s hand drawn illustrations from the 208 page accordion style book. Imagined by Mumbai native and real estate developer Khilen Shah, who has dedicated his life and career to the heritage of Mumbai's architecture the project captures the energy of the streets of Mumbai and the vibrancy of its people.
