On the day Manchester Animation Festival launches their 2025 programme, join us as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this hugely influential cyber-tech thriller, based on the comic book by Shirow Masamune, which is lauded as one of the leading Japanese animation films of all time.
In a future where tech-augmented humans have become interconnected by the net, law enforcement agents are able to download themselves into super-powered, crime busting machines. Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg officer, is spearheading the investigation into a master hacker known as the Puppet Master, who robs human memories.
